Baltimore, Rath and the Islands Community Council is a voluntary group nominated by their community to form a board charged with the responsibility of co-ordinating the maintenance, upkeep and upgrade of public and community facilities in and around Baltimore. Furthermore the role is to liaise with and assist the numerous local organisations within our area. We also publish a quarterly newsletter.
Previously, we have successfully built a community hall which is the focal point of the community, built a playground over 10 years ago as well as numerous other local improvements. We are actively researching and supporting new initiatives involving commemoration possibilities for those lost at sea, the growth and development of a twinning project, creating new initiatives involving tourism, harbour-based and website projects all designed to update our community as well as developing our local facilities.
As a council we encourage active community participation. The council meets monthly and visitors are always welcome. Should you have any queries, suggestions or even donations please email or contact us on facebook .
